Empowering Students with Trust and Transparency

Riga Vibes is the student brand of the Organisation for International Student Welfare (OISW) — a registered non-profit organisation (Reg. No. 40008344970) based in the Riga Congress Hall, right neighbouring Latvian National Symphony Orchestra.

We were founded to make student life in Riga safer, fairer, and more connected. Over the past years, we’ve helped hundreds of international students find verified housing, prevent rental fraud, and understand their rights — while building a genuine sense of community.

With our verified housing list, legal assistance from partner lawyers, and events that bring students together, we offer more than just help — we offer belonging.

Riga Vibes connects students, universities, embassies, and local professionals into one supportive network that makes moving to Latvia simple, transparent, and welcoming.

Our Journey

From Grassroots to Recognized NGO

It all started with one student’s struggle. When the founder of Riga Vibes Alessia Tranquilli was an Erasmus student, she faced housing problem — a situation that almost cost her the entire semester.

After the end of the studies she began sharing advice, warning others about unreliable landlords, and helping newcomers find safe places to live. Word spread quickly — and what began as a small support circle grew into a thriving student network known as Riga Vibes.

Over time, this informal community transformed into a structured non-profit: the Organisation for International Student Welfare (OISW), officially registered in Latvia as a non-profit prganisation. With its home in the Riga Congress Palace.
